Asus has announced it is teaming up with Quantumcloud to allow owners of its graphics card to mine cryptocurrencies and get digital payouts via PayPal or WeChat. Speaking to anonymous sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, Sams learned of an entire hardware product roadmap in place for 2019 and 2020. During its re:Invent conference in Las Vegas today, Amazon announced its own fully managed ledger database with a central trusted authority called Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB). The service provides customers with an append-only, fixed journal that tracks the history of all changes made to it. Amazon also touted QLDB's other features such as its transparent nature, ease of use and speed. Compared with existing products, the e-commerce giant's offering can execute two to three times more transactions. Microsoft’s HoloLens has seen countless applications in the professional world, from construction to general contracting and beyond, but now it will enter the next theater of war. The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded Microsoft with a $480 million contract to produce up to 100,000 HoloLens headsets for infantry use in combat missions, Bloomberg reports . The news comes amid the wide use of HoloLens in military training for some time now. US military officials clearly like what they’ve seen, and they’re now ready to deploy augmented reality (AR) tech in live combat missions. Apple is getting taken to court in a class action lawsuit that alleges that the company is selling iMacs and MacBooks without dust filters, and that this omission is causing display problems. It’s worth noting that these don’t appear to be widespread issues, and the lawsuit is being brought by Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, a law firm that’s notorious for bringing litigation against Apple. The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Isshiki's Piano no Mori/Forest of Piano manga announced today that 56-year-old Hiroyuki Yamaga, best known for his and Gainax's feature film debut work Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise in 1987, is newly served as director for its upcoming second season, in place of the first season's Gaku Nakatani.   After working at DreamWorks as writer/CG supervisor from 2005 to 2013, Nakatani made his directorial debut with the first season. The reason for the change is not mentioned.   In addition, the second season's new ED song "Hajimari no Basho" ( The place of the beginning ) is performed by 28-year-old voice actress/singer Rie Murakwa (Hotaru Ichijo in Non Non Biyori , Ram in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World ). Tohoku Shinsha announced the 12 finalists for its second "KimiKoe Audition" ( Your Voice Audition ) on November 29. Publisher Tokyo News Tsushinsha has released a new sample photo from 30-year-old anime voice actor Chiharu Sawashiro 's yet-titled forthcoming first photography book to be released in Japan on December 20, 2018, featuring him wearing a blond-hair wig and a one piece dress.   He says, "I tried cross-dressing for the first time! I had wanted to try blond hair. Checking the finished photo, I though it fit nicely to me and looked better than I expected.   It looks like Kotaro's crazy idea just might work: fans of Zombie Land Saga  more than tripled the attendance at one of Saga Prefecture's cultural sites.   Regular readers of our Anime vs. Real Life column will know that Zombie Land Saga  visits many real locations and businesses around the prefecture. In particular, the former Karatsu City Historical Folk Museum serves as Franchouchou's base of operations. The building was previously Mitsubishi's Karatsu branch office and is now a warehouse.   The building, which has been closed to the public since 2003, opened its doors last year for a two-day event. Over the course of both days, approximately 300 visitors came through.
