Kyoto Animation and Their Anime Series' Post Adorable New Year's Messages

  In true Kyoto Animation spirit, the wonderfully wholesome anime studio posted an adorable New Year's greeting on their Twitter account featuring the studio's mascot Baja, and Baja's ducky friend Ga-chan. The message was posted in both English and Japanese, with the Japanese message also thanking fans for their support over the last year. Tsukihime Visual Novel Remake Comes to PS4 and Switch Summer 2021 in Japan

  Fans of the visual novel Tsukihime rejoice! The first visual novel from the mind of Fate creator  Kinoko Nasu will be remade this year on both the Playstation 4 and the Nintendo Switch as  Tsukihime -A Piece of Blue Glass Moon- .   The long-overdue announcement came as a surprise at the end of the  Fate Project New Year's Eve TV Special 2020 which also announced two new  Fate/Grand Carnival OVAs. A trailer, staff list, and cast were revealed for the  Tsukihime remake at Type-Moon.     Tsukihime -A Piece of Blue Glass Moon- will see  Nasu return as the director of the visual novel, and will see him supervise the project.  Takashi Takeuchi also returns from the original game as the character designer. Japan Box Office: Demon Slayer Has Extended Its No.1 Run to 11 Weeks

    We witnessed a moment in the history of Japanese cinema being rewritten. In its 11th week, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train made an impressive 907,618,200 yen (about 8.77 million USD) on 575,640 admissions, bringing its total to 32,478,895,850 yen (318 million USD). Thanks to the new bonus item and the start of screening at MX4D/4DX theaters, it achieved an astounding 204 percent in attendance and 232 percent in box-office revenue compared to the previous week.   Not only did it dominate the weekend box office ranking for 11 weeks in a row, but the film finally became the top-grossing film of all-time in Japan, surpassing the previous record of 31.68 billion yen marked by Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away in 2001.     With a record 11 weeks on Oricon's digital single charts, anison singer LiSA 's 17th single song "Homura" ( Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train theme song) became the longest No. 1 single in the history of the charts.   The song was digitally released on October 12 and downloaded 31,363 times in its11th week, bringing its total to 770,556 times. Mamoru Oshii's New Anime VLADLOVE to Start Streaming in Japan on February 14, 2021

    Ichigo Animation held the world premiere screening for the first four episodes of the internationally acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii ( Mobile Police Patlabor ,  Ghost in The Shell )'s highly-anticipated new anime project VLADLOVE  at the United Cinema Toyosu theater in Tokyo on December 28, 2020.    The anime's main production staff members, including Oshii, who serves as the executive director, producer, and screenplay writer, director Junji Nishimura (Oshii's Urusei Yatsura mate), anime character designer Issei Arakaki , and animation producer Toru Miyakoshi joined the event to talk about the show's production process and behind-the-scenes episodes.         At the event, it was announced that the 12-episode slapstick fantasy anime will start streaming on major platforms in Japan, including Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Bandai Channel, from February 14, 2021.     KADOKAWA's official anime YouTube channel has posted a 35-second PV for the forthcoming TV anime World Witches Take Off!  It is the second season of the TV anime adaptation project based on the spin-off gag manga Strike Witches: 501st JOINT FIGHTER WING Take Off! illustrated by Makoto Fujibayashi.   The comedy spin-off is set in a world where Neuroi, the enemies of humanity, never came. So the Witches from all over the world spend their days goofing off instead of fighting. The first season Strike Witches: 501st JOINT FIGHTER WING Take Off! was aired for 12 episodes from April 10 to June 26, 2019.
