Detective Conan Manga Author Draws KanColle 10th Anniversary Illustration Featuring Akagi
Japanese web browser simulation game franchise Kantai Collection/KanColle finally celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 23, 2023. Since its launch in April 2013, the game featuring the World War II warships personified as teenage girls has been developed into various media franchise such as TV anime series, feature film, and manga.
Gosho Aoyama, the author of the internationally popular Detective Conan/Case Closed manga series who is also known as one of the avid players of the game, has posted an illustration for the 10th anniversary celebration on the KanColle franchise's official Twitter. The illustration is accompanied by his messages: "Congratulations on the 10th anniversary♪" and "Akagi is the best!"

The first KanColle TV anime series was aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2015, then the second series KanColle: See You Again on Another Quiet Blue Sea followed with eight episodes from November 2022 to March 2023 (with several breaks). Both series are available on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll describes the story of the series as such:
Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold!
