LiSA Becomes First Japanese Female Artist who Gets One Million Downloads
In addition to the report by The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), Oricon has also confirmed that LiSA's 15th single song "Gurenge," the OP theme for the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, has been downloaded more than one million times by July 26.
The song was digitally released 15 months ago, April 22, 2019. In the most recent week, the song was downloaded 13,678 times, bringing its total to an impressive 1,001,773 times. It has become the third song that has reached one million downloads in Oricon's digital single ranking, following Kenshi Yonezu's "Paprika" (May 2018) and "Uma to Shika" (May 2020). And now she becomes the first Japanese female artist who has reached the one million milestone.
As reported, the song also became the most popular anime/tokusatsu/game song in the first half of 2020, based on the number of times sung in XING's online karaoke service JOYSOUND series and UGA series. It still dominated Oricon's weekly karaoke song ranking for eight consecutive weeks from June 1 to July 20.
