Yūichi Nakamura Joins the Cast of Horror Comedy Anime Mieruko-chan
There are lots of spooky things in Miko's life that no one else can see — but the latest Mieruko-chan cast addition is one of the horror-comedy's most visible!
Voice actor Yūichi Nakamura has joined the cast of the series, an adaptation of Tomoki Izumi's currently-running manga. He will be playing Zen Toono, Miko's creepy-looking substitute homeroom teacher. He appears to be haunted by a certain sort of spirit... but why that is may not be as straightforward as it initially seems.
Nakamura is also known for playing Reinhard van Astraea in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Ringo Tsukimiya in the Uta no Prince-sama franchise, and Alto Saotome in Macross Frontier.
Mieruko-chan is syndicated on the Comic Walker website. Five volumes are in print from Kadokawa Shoten, with the sixth due to be released on October 22. Yen Press licenses the manga in North America, and describes it thus:
A normal girl was living a normal life-until she wasn't.
One day, she could see...everything. What's a girl to do when hideous monsters appear no matter which way she turns?
And on top of that, nobody else can see them!
Obviously, there's only one thing that makes sense - ignore them.
Kinda hard to put theory into practice, though, when the ghosts know she's watching...
The anime adaptation premieres October 3, and will be simulcast by Funimation.
