    Last November, concurrent with Anime NYC, Crunchyroll partnered with the media company Weird Enough Productions to host a community event at P.S./M.S. 5 Port Morris, a K-8 School in The Bronx with a focus on literacy. In that community, 70% of students read below grade level, so the school is deeply committed to providing reading tools for students. A lot of these students don’t have a local library, so the school is playing a major role in making sure they have access to books. She was 35. Her family wished to see her off quietly and have already held a private funeral for the musician.   Born in Tokyo on January 13, 1988, Maon Kurosaki had been looking to become a performer since her elementary school days. As she got older and her voice was praised by others, she set her heart on becoming a singer. She combined her singing skills and love of anime by performing and working at the popular Dear Stage bar in Akihabara in January 2008, where she was discovered by a producer from Geneon Universal Entertainment.     Kurosaki made her first major debut with the album H.O.T.D . on September 22, 2010.
