This week we have seen some incredible cosplay during our #28DaysOfBlackCosplay feature series. It’s been incredible seeing cosplayers achieve the cosplay they’ve always wanted to do and, more importantly, see how many people keep cosplaying even if they’ve done their ultimate cosplay! We’re closing this week out with one more set of dream cosplay features that will, most likely, encourage you to look at your favorite character and decide to dress up as them.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
With Makima, I love evil women. With Raiden Shogun I fell in love with her character once she was introduced. She’s a Girlboss.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
I love the editing I did for my Makima cosplay. As for Raiden Shogun, I love the sword I made for it!

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
He was my very first favorite character from the series and a character that I've really grown to adore all throughout 2021 and 2022. A character whose lore has stuck with me forever!!! I was so happy because as I start my cosplay hobby this year with more to come, I'm so proud of myself and happy that Kaeya got to be the very first character because it's one that I've talked about for SOOO long lol!!
What's something you love about this cosplay?
The uniqueness and details in the costume are absolutely amazing SOMETIMES FJJFJF it's not as fun to get them on some days as others because of its complexity but that makes it just as intriguing!
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
Get better and better at polishing up a few skills and redo the cosplay with a photographer and a different setting. I strive to be like so many of the talented and cool cosplayers that I've seen growing up. I want to be better every day and use that going forward with my other dream cosplays!!! take it one Ly-step at a time for soon-to-come Ly-kind!!

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
This was a dream cosplay for me because I’ve always been into supernatural and horror genres. I love the thrill of being shocked and scared. Cosplaying Mahito was definitely an unbelievable feeling! He is so twisted which I find really awesome!
What's something you love about this cosplay?
I love putting the blue wig on! The longest wig I’ve ever put on! It felt super weird at first but I knew had to immerse myself into being Mahito.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I have always adored this character for multiple reasons. I wanted to embody his confidence, his silliness and his wisdom. So as a gift to myself for getting top surgery, I pushed myself to cosplay my role model.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
The number of eye-catching details makes it one of a kind.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
Definitely something with armor, niche cosplays are my thing. Mega Man is definitely on my list.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
What makes this a dream cosplay for me is the fact that Rengoku is such a strong character. It feels really good to cosplay as such a powerful individual in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, it feels powerful and fire is strong and it’s a really cool representation of him and what he stands for.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
The thing I love about this cosplay is that although Rengoku is such a masculine character, I was able to translate that masculinity in a really feminine way. Strength is represented by all people no matter what gender you are.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
I think what’s next for me since I’ve already done my dream cosplay is something that’s even more challenging. I’m not sure what it is yet but I know it’s going to be next level.

The Oppai Princess as Junko Enoshima (Danganronpa/Danganronpa: The Animation)
What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I’ve been a gamer all my life and a streamer for a few years. This has been one of the most talked about series that I was told I’d enjoy! When I saw the anime I knew that I had to cosplay her AND play this game! The attitude and princess mentality themes fit so well with my brand and aesthetic to the point that I knew she was the one to make a staple cosplay for my convention lineup!
What's something you love about this cosplay?
I LOVE her hair! If you know me on social media then you know I always do big hair and am never without some kind of afro, so when I started doing her cosplays I knew I had to build on top of her wig to give that full-body curly effect! It’s a labor of love but worth it!
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
More video game characters and OCs! It’s a surprise but I’ll give you a hint... she’s an OG fighter and probably your first video game crush.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I feel like this cosplay was made for me right down to the body type, she's a great character and I hope to finish off all the props and bring this to a con soon.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Getting to showcase a strong female character, getting a sweet eye patch and getting to carry around a sword!

I will be shifting focus to Legend of Zelda as my next cosplay theme.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I made everything by hand and entered a cosplay competition for Eko Anime Fest and got second place. I worked very hard on it even with the limited resources I had. Although I wanted to give up multiple times it came out amazing.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Bakugo’s gauntlets, I made them myself.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
Making a Garnet cosplay from Steven Universe, I’m making it for a ComiCon happening in September.

Quin as Hawks (My Hero Academia)
What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I’ve always loved Hawks as a character and I rarely saw people cosplay as him early on. The one guy I did see pull it off way back in 2018 had me convinced to give it a shot so I did... almost four years later.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Hawks’ outfit isn’t terribly complex but his wings just make everything pop with how bold they are. I knew that part had to be done right before I committed to trying anything cosplay related.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
Workshopping a Thanatos cosplay from the Hades game. We’ll see how that goes.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
Bakugo had always been a favorite character of mine in the series. His costume seems like so much fun, and when I first got into the anime I knew it was something I wanted to test my skills with! All in all, Bakugo’s character means a lot to me and even more so as I’ve seen him grow throughout the series. I’m so stoked to be able to embody his character through cosplay!
What's something you love about this cosplay?
It’s sooo much fun. For one, the gauntlets honestly make me feel like such a badass!
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
The best part of completing a dream cosplay is that you get to come up with another one! Fortunately, I have tons of cosplay plans for the future. I hope the keep making my way through the My Hero Academia lineup, but there will be more to come from other fandoms as well!

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
Todoroki was one of the characters I liked before I even started watching anime so to watch My Hero Academia for the first time and finally figure out where he was from definitely made him a dream cosplay.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Something I love about this cosplay is the makeup that I did for it and also the editing.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
Well, that was just one of many dream cosplays and who knows what’s next. Maybe more My Hero Academia, maybe All Might, who knows.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
Sawamura Eijun is a character that I see a lot of myself in. Flawed and just wanting to become better at what I love the most, no matter the cost or how long it takes. The determination and drive he continually shows over the anime’s many episodes is an inspiration for my daily life to just keep trying.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
I love the jersey I made for it. I tried to stay as true as possible to his jersey and I was stoked at how well it turned out.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
It is my dream because this cosplay has a special place in my heart. The plot of the series is so relatable. I hope to one day cosplay all the characters on the show because they’re each an aspect of myself.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
I love meeting other Jahy fans when I wear this cosplay. It’s rare but I am still in touch with friends I’ve made in this fanbase in comparison to other shows.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I always knew once I started cosplaying I’d really want to do Kakashi! A big reason for this is that grey is my favorite hair color to wear, and Kakashi is without a doubt the most iconic grey-haired character in anime. There’s so many factors that make Kakashi stand out. This was extremely fun to do and I’m so happy to be able to share it with you all.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Something I really love about this cosplay is that Naruto is a very well-known and popular anime series. I’ve been very excited to cosplay as someone that everyone knew. This way I can connect with as many fans and cosplayers in the anime community as possible.
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
I have a few more dream cosplays that I plan on doing in the future, one being C.C. from Code Geass! Also, I plan on doing 11 more cosplays before the year ends. I knew I wanted to get more serious when it came to cosplay, but now that I’ve done Kakashi I’m even more excited.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
I love Yu Yu Hakusho. It was one of my favorite anime growing up and I was always so fixated on Kurama because of how badass and beautiful he is. A lot of people normally rave about how their favorites are Yusuke, Hiei and even Kuwabara and I really just wanted to show that Kurama deserves just as much love.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
The rose whip! It’s the centerpiece of the cosplay.

To cosplay as many other characters that I admire.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
This cosplay was a dream cosplay because of my love for the character. Also for the fact that I had to make it myself given that a lot of cosplay sites aren’t size inclusive!
What's something you love about this cosplay?
The thing I love the most was the time and effort I put into bringing her to life! It made me love the character even more than I already do!
Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
To continue to do what I love and inspire people like me that no matter the relevance of the character in today’s time, if you love them? Cosplay them!

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
This has been a cosplay about 7 years in the making ever since I saw a fanart online with a tactical Spider-Man. I've always wanted to make it a reality.

The mask, it just brings everything together.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
Esdeath has always been my favorite female villain. During the show, I could tell she had this kind and helpful side of her that she only shows that to the people she cares about. I love to see villains expressing their good guy side. She showed me that all villains don’t have to be evil. Since then I told myself she would be my first cosplay to pull off.
With Light, I’m in love with thriller anime and he’s always been my favorite male villain. He’s a genius and has a gentlemanly personality.
What's something you love about this cosplay?
Esdeath’s kind and helpful to those she likes, fiercely protective of those she loves and ruthless to those she doesn't like. She has this cute side that I can’t resist. It also gives her character more depth and it also shows that she can care for others — not just the main character, but her comrades.
With Light, I love how I could make the character my own. I get to use my locs instead of a wig. It’s wonderful how I could pull off a closet cosplay set instead of buying his outfit. I was amazed at how it came out.

Now that you've done your dream cosplay, what's next?
I really want to continue more in the anime community. I want to cosplay as Soma from Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma and cook the famous Gotcha Pork Roast dish. I also want to cosplay as Sesshomaru from Inuyasha, go to the garden and take some photos. Plus I want to participate in a cosplay contest.

What makes this a dream cosplay for you?
Death Note is one of my favorite animes and I love Misa’s style. Being able to showcase her using curly hair was also an amazing feeling!
