BELLE Anime Film Soars Past $3 Million in U.S. Box Office
Following up on its success in Japan, Mamoru Hosoda's acclaimed anime film BELLE made a splash of its own in North America. After two weeks in theaters, GKIDS announced that the film has pulled in over US$3 million in the box office, making it Hosoda's highest-grossing film in the region.
Hosoda's 2018 anime film Mirai was the champion before this with $812,000.
North American screenings kicked off for BELLE on January 14, hot on the heels of IMAX previews in select markets that started on July 12. For another look at the English dubbed version, you can watch Suzu/Belle VA Kylie McNeill perform "Gales of Song" below.
