Blue Gale Xabungle Gets Remastered for Japanese Blu-ray Release
Most of us know Yoshiyuki Tomino primarily for the long-lived Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. But he's got tons of other mecha anime to his name — among them Blue Gale Xabungle (Combat Mecha Xabungle in Japan), released in 1982. The series in in the midst of a Blu-ray restoration in Japan, and the second box is coming this summer, complete with the series's compilation film.
The new Blu-ray box follows Part 1, which came out in Japan last month, and will contain episodes 26-50. Like Part 1, Part 2 has new master prints, 2K scans, and HD remastering. It also includes newly-drawn cover and digipak art by Tomonori Kogawa, the character designer for the series:

The box will also include Xabungle Graffiti, the 1983 compilation film.
The Blu-ray of Volume 2 goes on sale in Japan July 27. In the meantime, you can stream all 50 episodes of the TV series on HIDIVE.
