Hunter x Hunter 2nd TV Anime Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary with Special Illustration
To celebrate its 10th-anniversary, the official website for the second TV anime adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's fantasy action manga Hunter x Hunter has posted a special illustration newly drawn by the anime character designer Takahitro Yoshimatsu, along along with congratulatory messages from Megumi Han (Gon Freecss) and Mariya Ise (Killua Zoldyck). In the visual, the protagonist Gon and his best friend Killua, hold up the "10" symbol drawn with their Nen with smiles on their faces, with Kurapika, Leorio, and Hisoka standing behind.
Following the 62-episode first TV anime produced by Studio Deen from 1999 to 2001 and the three-arc OVA series produced by Nippon Animation from 2002 to 2004, the second TV anime produced by Madhouse was aired for 148 episodes from October 2011 to September 2014.
Message from Megumi Han (Gon Freecss):
"It was my beginning, and it will always be my starting point. It's been ten years since I was allowed to stand at that starting point. Hunter has given me many encounters and invaluable things in life. It is thanks to all of you that this series is continuing to develop in this way. I'd like to say thank you and congratulations to everything so far."
Message from Mariya Ise (Killua Zoldyck):
"I've been able to live my life as a voice actor thanks to my encounter with HUNTERxHUNTER when I was 14 years old. To think that a girl who was just a fan of Killua would end up playing the role of Killua ten years later, at the age of 24... what a dreamy story (laughs). Another ten years from then...! I hope this series will continue to be loved for many years to come, and congratulations on its 10th anniversary!"
