Nintendo Presses Start on First In-Person Event in 3 Years
With conventions and expos coming back in full force, Nintendo seems to not want to be left behind, with the Japanese arm of the video game company announcing the return of Nintendo Live today – an event where people can play the newest games and participate in officially run tournaments, including the first Splatoon 3 tourney after the game releases in September.

ゲーム大会、音楽ライブ、ステージイベント、ゲーム体験などをお楽しみいただける、事前応募制のイベントです。
10月8日(土)、9日(日)の2日間、東京ビッグサイトで開催します。#NintendoLivehttps://t.co/JVVurDPk9V
This marks the first Nintendo Live since 2019, when the company hosted the last event in its hometown of Kyoto. This time around, Nintendo is taking over Tokyo Big Sight, the biggest event space in the country and the home to Comiket.
Joining Splatoon 3, tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (which were MC’d by director Masahiro Sakurai in the past!) and Nintendo Switch Sports will be held as well as live stages for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Splatoon 3. Previously live stages included concerts from in-universe groups, so we may see Off the Hook or KK Slider perform live!

Nintendo Live 2022 will be held on October 8 and 9, with tickets for both players in tournaments and general admission going up for lottery. Player tickets can be applied for starting July 26, with general admission applications starting on September 1.
