The official Twitter account for Masaoki Shindo's RuriDragon manga announced today that the Weekly Shonen Jump series will be continuing its hiatus while the manga creator recovers, taking an extended break.

RuriDragon had only launched in Weekly Shonen Jump on June 13 and already has taken a one-week break in issue 33 and was confirmed to be absent in issue 35, which was released today in Japan. There is no new date for when RuriDragon will return.

The Weekly Shonen Jump Editorial Team said in the above message that it was decided after discussions between Shindo and the team that it would be better for RuriDragon to go on an extended break so Shindo could look after his health and the serialization can continue in the future without issue. Weekly Shonen Jump will announce the series' return when it has been decided.

RuriDragon is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and the online Shonen Jump+ platform in Japan, with the Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus releasing the series in English. Viz Media describes the series as such:

Ruri faces the usual issues: pushy classmates, annoying teachers and...waking up with dragon horns?!
