Monster Rancher Series Celebrates 20 Years with New Twitter Account

Back when Pokémon and Digimon were first lighting up the world, another monster-raising series reared its head and started a franchise of its own. If you remember popping CDs into your PSone to see which discs generated the most powerful monsters, you remember the first Monster Rancher game in 1997, which makes the series just a little over 20 years old in 2019. Known as Monster Farm in Japan, the series recently made itself known once more thanks to a 20th anniversary Twitter account.

Colt, who first appeared in 1999's Monster Rancher 2, runs the account, which makes the 20th anniversary distinction even more appropriate. The account hasn't announced anything of note yet, but it has posted two pieces of art featuring Colt and a very happy Mocchi.

Stay tuned to see if anything comes of this resurgence. If it has you overflowing with nostalgia, don't forget that Discotek Media released the anime on DVD.
